Brett joined the financial services industry in Australia in 1991 as a financial planner. In 1995 he became a partner in Profile Financial Services, a Sydney based planning firm. Profile was transformed from a commission-based insurance and pensions business into a leading example of the modern fee based advisory practice

Brett's UK experience is vast and varied and includes the following highlights:

• Designing and running the Institute of Financial Planning Transition Workshops
• Presenting at PIMS2006 and PIMS2007 where he was rated top workshop presenter
• At the New Model Adviser awards in 2006 over 40% of nominees had been involved with FP Advance - and in 2007 two of the winners were FP Advance clients
• In 2006 Professional Adviser magazine rated Brett one of the Top 50 Most Influential IFAs in Britain
